The Startup Club

The Startup Club assists entrepreneurs and business owners to perfect their business model, pitch and product while providing mentoring and support.

The Startup Club also offers weekly pitch nights to members and guests to perfect their pitch.

Gold Coast TechSpace

Gold Coast Techspace is physical place where people can go a hack around with technology. Whether it be Software, Hardware, Robotics, Green Technology or anything else that takes your fancy – this is the place where you we can come together, get projects off the ground and learn from each other in a collaborate, non-exclusive environment.

Wavebreak International

Wavebreak International supports the growth of knowledge-based start-up companies looking to take on the challenges of significant business growth, often by mastering those critical next steps in preparation for scaling the business including securing necessary levels of funding.

Rabbit + Cocoon

Rabbit + Cocoon is based in Miami and is a true creative space on the Gold Coast, with a collection of creative members including local artists, radio presenters, fashion designers, furniture designers, film makers and boutique IT companies represented among their members. A volunteer-driven initiative, Rabbit + Cocoon initially received support from a philanthropist who strongly believed in its potential, and has since been successful in seeking funding for specific projects.


Founders Forum

Founders Forum is an angel investor network devoted to educating business executives and assisting early-stage investment opportunities through regular meetings where business issues are discussed and where entrepreneurs present their ventures.


iPledg is a broad based, global crowd funding platform for individuals, companies and organizations to raise funds from the crowd. Whether the projects are creative, commercial, charitable or community focused, iPledg is the ideal platform on which to post a project and engage your network to pledge their support.

Australian Small Scale Offerings Board (ASSOB)

ASSOB is Australia’s largest and most successful business introduction and matching platform for showcasing investment opportunities in high growth, unlisted Australian companies.

A wide range of businesses, from seed and start-up stage, to award-winning and government granted companies, as well as more established growth and expanding companies, have joined ASSOB seeking access to growth capital and a convenient forum to connect with stakeholders.

Capital Exchange Australia (CEA)

Capital Exchange Australia recognises the need and difficulty in identifying sources of funding and making connections to the right people and organisations. CEA connects you to the capital and support you need.

Australian Association of Angel Investors (AAAI)

Established in 2007, the Australian Association of Angel Investors (AAAI) is the national forum advancing Angel Investors, their professionalism and their passion for investing in entrepreneurial business. The Gold Coast has its own chapter of the AAAI, Gold Coast Angels.


iQ Funds is a well-established investor and advisory group based on the Gold Coast with interests and networks around the world. Queensland Government

Queensland Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow

The Queensland Government is offering $1 million in grants over three years to stay-at-home parents to establish or grow home-based businesses as part of Queensland Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow.

The Home-based Business Grants Program provides the support that stay-at-home parents need to make their business a success, while keeping a healthy balance between work and family.

Advance QLD

Advance Queensland is a comprehensive suite of programs, based on international evidence of what works, and is designed to create the knowledge-based jobs of the future, drive productivity improvements and build on our natural advantages.

It will help position the state as an attractive investment destination with a strong innovation and entrepreneurial culture.

The Queensland Government is investing $180 million over four years to create the knowledge based jobs of the future this is Advance Queensland.

The Entrepreneurs’ Programme is the Australian Governments flagship initiative for business competitiveness and productivity at the firm level.

R&D Tax Incentive

The Research & Development (R&D) Tax Incentive is a targeted, generous and easy to access entitlement program that helps businesses offset some of the costs of doing R&D.

Silicon Beach

Silicon Beach Gold Coast is an informal networking group that is interested in the start-up technology arena so whether your technologist, entrepreneur, investor or you play a different role within the start-up arena then join us to help develop the start-up eco system of the Gold Coast. Most of our group focuses on Internet related Innovation so typically around the trends of Silicon Valley.

IT Forum Gold Coast

The IT Forum Gold Coast (ITFGC) provides an ideal opportunity for local businesses and agencies to network, promote their services, form alliances, socialise with colleagues and keep abreast of news and developments.

Youth Programs

Mayor’s Telstra Tech Award

An annual competition, The Mayor’s Telstra Tech Awards looks for the next big technological idea- it could be something so new and revolutionary that no one else has even thought of it, or it could be a new idea based on existing technology.

Startup Apprentice Program

Startup Apprentice is a social enterprise, inspired by the social and philanthropic sectors operating as a business for social purpose. Their mission, to inspire 1million young minds to think differently about their approach to working life and provide schools with the tools to introduce 21st century project based learning to the current school curriculum.

Startup Creative

Startup Creative is a unique business incubator, magazine, professional development and mentoring program tailored specifically for young people. Most 15 to 35 year olds lack the experience and knowledge required to develop their idea into a viable business.


Coder Dojo provides free and open learning to young people, especially in programming technology. The goal is to provide an environment where the kids lead the direction of the learning through playing and creating, supported by mentors and parents. In the first instance they’re targeting a weekly gathering for boys and girls from 8 to 12 years old (although all kids are welcome to try it out), with an interest in doing more with their computer/tablet/phone than homework, social networking and playing games! Possible activities include creating games and minecraft plugins, building and programming robots, or even building websites, but at the end of the day, it’s down to the kids to decide what they want to learn, and doing so in a supported, collaborative environment.

Minecraft Mondays

Love playing Minecraft? Head along to play the game and share tips and tricks with other Minecrafters. For 8 to 12 year olds. Note: they have limited computers available however you may bring your own laptop with the game loaded onto it.

KidHack Club

KidHack Club is run every two weeks at Robina Community Centre and is generally a self-paced workshop but with TechSpace mentors who are there to help you with any problems you might have. Kids can work on Arduino projects, robotics or soldering to name a few.
