International Trade and Investment Program
The City of Gold Coast’s International Trade and Investment Program (ITIP) aims to raise the city’s global profile as an emerging business destination, strengthen the city’s international networks, increase the Gold Coast’s export base and inward investment and maximise legacy opportunities following the Commonwealth Games in 2018.
Opportunities exist for Gold Coast exporters to participate in selected activities.
This may range from company profiles and contact details in city capability guides distributed at trade shows to physical meetings in market with potential investors – across outbound and inbound trade missions.
Outbound Trade and Investment Missions
Trade missions will continue to play an important role in facilitating opportunities for Gold Coast exporters and inward investment seekers directly to international and domestic markets. City of Gold Coast led trade missions provide a range of practical assistance for traveling delegations and individual business people including travel logistics, business matching and in-country assistance.
Outbound trade mission objectives are to:
- promote the capabilities, products and services of the city’s export ready businesses
- assist local firms to generate export sales aimed at expanding the city’s economy and workforce
- promote the city as a preferred location for investment and relocation
- developing a pro-active, commercially focused international connections program that leverages the city’s significant global contacts and competitive advantages.

Inbound Trade and Investment Missions
The City of Gold Coast is placing greater emphasis on developing inbound programs for the next financial year.
As demonstrated in recent outbound trade and investment mission activities in China and the Middle East, high quality leads have been generated which can now be converted to targeted inbound programs.
It is essential to maintain momentum created as a result of in-market activity to stay top of mind for potential investors and candidate trade partners by showcasing Gold Coast commercial opportunities.
