Federal Government Programs and Resources


AusIndustry is a specialist program delivery division within the Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education.

AusIndustry provides incentives to help Australian businesses to conduct research and development; grow small business; take up new technology; undertake industry-specific manufacturing and production; and commercialise a new technology or venture. AusIndustry offers both entitlement and concession programs.

Business.gov.au is an Australian Government initiative that provides comprehensive support to eligible Australian small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Enterprise Connect can help SMEs develop the skills, tools and knowledge needed to improve their competitiveness and productivity and to maximise their growth potential.

The Australian Trade Commission contributes to Australia’s economic prosperity by helping Australian businesses, education institutions, tourism operators, governments and citizens to develop international markets, win productive foreign direct investment, promote international education and strengthen Australia’s tourism industry.

The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme is a key Australian Government financial assistance program for aspiring and current exporters. Administered by Austrade, the scheme supports a wide range of industry sectors and products, including inbound tourism and the export of intellectual property and know-how outside Australia.

State Government Programs and Resources

Business and Industry Portal

The Queensland Business and Industry Portal brings together information from a range of Queensland Government departments into one contemporary website. This one-stop-shop provides interactive tools, templates and support relevant to business.

There are also a range of grants available to businesses including the Industry Skills Fund.

Arts Business Innovation Fund

The Arts Business Innovation Fund is an initiative of the Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland and the Arts Investment Advisory Board, and the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation.

It aims to strengthen income generating and entrepreneurial capacity in the areas of arts and cultural business development.

Mentoring for Growth Program

The Mentoring for Growth Program (M4G) is delivered by the Queensland Government and supported by business professionals from the private sector who, through mentorship, aid businesses in identifying and addressing specific challenges to growth.

Small Business Solutions Program

Small Business Solutions is a Queensland Government initiative designed to enhance the business skills, profitability and growth of small businesses across Queensland. The service incorporates one-on-one business mentoring and formal skills recognition for business owners in their workplace at a time to suit them.
